We spent the night in Kanab, then headed down to the Grand Canyon. We stopped at the Glen Canyon Dam visitors center to check out Lake Powell.

Spring Break Road Trip Day 1
I took so many pictures on our trip I thought I'd spread them out over a couple of days.
We took the scenic route around Utah Lake and almost ran into some cowboys.
The kids documented the trip in thier travel journals.
We Took the shuttle tour through Zions canyon. So pretty!

Easter Eggs and Stunts for Dummies
Everyone looks a little sombre here, but we had a great time dying eggs today. Everyone wished there were more eggs because they kept getting ideas for color combos to try, but since I'm the only one who will eat hard boiled eggs around here I only made a dozen.
Kent and Matt constructed a stunt dummy for Matt to practice his ninja skills on. Matt even fooled me into thinking he was in bed asleep tonight, but when I looked a little closer it was his dummy in the bed and Matt was somewhere else!

Waiting for the Icecream Man
Who knows why kids get fixated on certain ideas, but sometimes once they get an idea it's hard for them to let it go. Matt has been fixated on getting ice cream from the ice cream man for a couple of days now. I have tried to explain that the ice cream man won't be coming until it gets hot outside, but such logic is dismissed. This evening he announced that he would sit outside on a rock and wait with his $.82 for the ice cream truck to drive by. He never came, but the kids had fun jumping off the rocks and playing hopscotch anyway.

Saturday St. Patricks Day
St. Patrick's Day is one of our favorite low-key
holidays.
The kids made a leprechaun house in Anna's closet. It had all kinds of little furniture made of legos as well as these welcome signs.
They got a little more sophisticated with the leprechaun trap this year. Although they still did not catch him, they found some green footprints and a treat. Cheers everyone!
