Bubble Blowing and Running Buddy

Anna really loves bubble gum. I use it to get her to let me do her hair.

Clara really loves Bob. Bob is my running stroller. You can tell she loves it because she goes into baby-coma sleep every time she rides in it.

Clara Eleanor

We are so excited that this baby girl is finally here! Clara Eleanor was born last Tuesday evening. The day started pretty normal. Got the kids off to school, and I was having some harder contractions that morning so I asked Kent to work from home just in case.
The kids came to meet their new sister after school on Wednesday.
Kent spent the morning working on work and I did laundry. My contractions were getting closer together, so we decided to go get lunch at Zupas and then go to the hospital to see if this was real labor or not. (Hey, you know once they decide you are in labor, they won't let you eat anything!)

After observing my status at the hospital for an hour they decided to admit me - yeah! I called a friend to pick up the kids from school and got my Mom to spend the night with them at home. My labor was progressing pretty good, and they got me all settled and got my epidural so we could just relax  for a while.
Matt has a few scratches on his face, so just to be safe he got to wear a fancy Dr. mask.
I had my hospital bag packed in the car, but we didn't have the camera, so I asked Kent to go home to pick it up since it would probably be a few hours before she was born. So Kent left, and the Dr. came in and told me they were worried about the baby's heart rate decelerating after each contraction. They were worried that she wasn't getting enough oxygen. The same thing that happened with Matt. So she wanted to do a C-section right away to make sure the baby wasn't in trouble. I called Kent and told him the update. He made it back to the hospital about 20 min later and they took me right in for surgery. Clara was born just a few minutes later. I heard the Dr. say, "Woah! She's big!". She was 9 lbs. 2 oz!!
Grandpa and Grandma Davis

She is just a beautiful little girl. Her hair reminds me a lot of what Anna's looked like when she was born. We stayed in the hospital until Friday, and are so glad to be home now!

Grandma McLean, Panda Express, and sleeping baby.

Took these today. Clara is 5 days old!

We really appreciate all the good wishes, visits and gifts from our awesome family! Thanks everyone! Kent has two weeks paternity leave, and I am so happy (and relieved!) that he will be here to help me and to spend time with our new little one. Love you Hubby!
